Can I just rent a game, install it, then burn a copy and use that on NXE?
Posted on July 25th, 2010 3 commentsRay asked:
On my Xbox, which was recently updated to the New Xbox Experience, can I rent a game, install it to my HDD, and use a burnt copy of the game for when the Xbox checks the disk when you turn the game on.Nobody has been able to give me a definitive answer for this question. Everywhere I see that someone says “no”, another person says “yes”.
FOR LEGAL REASONS: Obviously, I would only want to burn copies of games I already own (wink wink).

No it’s not like that. You will always need the (original) DVD in the drive to play.

No, you need a legal copy as your 360 won’t read burned copies.
…And don’t insult our intelligence, you said you were gonna rent the game – not do this with a game you own. You’re trying to steal games. Period.
